Ouagadougou: The main access culvert to the dispensary in the village of Mon has been rehabilitated thanks to the Faso Mbo initiative. The communal committee of the Faso Mbo initiative in Dissihn rehabilitated, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, the main culvert of the village of Mon, a structure whose deterioration compromised access to several essential social services, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, led by the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Dissihn, Gaoussou Hien, the works have made it possible to restore traffic on this 11-meter long crossing structure. The municipal authorities reported that the collapse of this culvert made access to the school, the dispensary, the church, and the traditional chiefdom difficult for a significant part of the population of the village of Mon.

As a prelude to the work, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of Dissihn, Benjamin Nana, mobilized the inhabitants of Mon, who contributed by bringing the aggregates necessary for the rehabilitation of the structure. Presiding over the launch of the works on behalf of the PDS, the secretary general of the Dissihn town hall, Jean de Dieu Bouladeyi Badolo, thanked the people for their strong mobilization.

He explained to them the objectives of the Faso Mbo initiative, which aims to strengthen citizen engagement in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure of community interest. Before the rehabilitation work, the culvert was in a very advanced state of disrepair. Only a strip of concrete approximately 60 centimeters wide remained usable along the 11 meters of the structure, forcing users, particularly motorcyclists, to perform delicate maneuvers to cross it.

Thanks to the joint mobilization of the Faso Mbo team and the inhabitants of Mon, the structure has been rehabilitated along its original length with laterite and concrete, regaining a width of five meters, to the satisfaction of the people. At the end of the work, the first vice-president of the special delegation, Gaoussou Hien, invited the local residents to ensure regular maintenance of the culvert in order to guarantee its durability.

He also called for continued citizen contributions to the Faso Mbo initiative for the rehabilitation of other crossing structures in the Dissihn municipality. He thanked all participants for their patriotism.
