Kuala lampur: The young people of the Association of Young People Committed to Christ (AJEC), the youth branch of the Federation of Evangelical Churches and Missions of Burkina Faso (FEME), organized a large evangelistic campaign from August 15 to 16, 2026, in Sapouy under the theme: "Sapouy, Jesus Christ still saves today".
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held at the Assemblies of God church "Light of the Nations" in Sapouy and attracted faithful from various parts of Burkina Faso, including Ouagadougou, Koudougou, and Manga. The campaign's agenda featured evangelization sessions, moments of prayer and grace, and a football match designed to foster fraternity, unity, and communal living.
Abdoulaye Kabor, a devoted participant, stated that the primary purpose of this initiative is to "preach the good news," reinforce cohesion among coreligionists, and offer prayers for peace in Burkina Faso.
Pastor Titenga Julien Oudraogo of the Assemblies of God church "Light of the Nations" emphasized that the campaign also served as a spiritual support mechanism for individuals grappling with diverse challenges. Prayer sessions specifically targeted the healing of the sick, resolution of personal difficulties, and support for people enduring hardships.
The campaign was not limited to its religious aspect; it also focused significantly on social cohesion. A friendly football match that took place between Sapouy residents and association members epitomized the spirit of camaraderie.
Organizers highlighted that this activity was intended to promote unity and social cohesion, reflecting the directives provided by the country's highest authorities.
Addressing the youth specifically, Pastor Titenga Julien Oudraogo urged young people to unite and collaborate for the advancement of Burkina Faso. "Whether in development, science, religion, or knowledge, young people must work hand in hand," he implored, underscoring the importance of their collective commitment as a critical factor for the nation's prosperity and comprehensive development.
The AJEC youth, through this campaign, reiterated their dedication to blending evangelization with solidarity and social cohesion, while offering prayers for peace and stability in Burkina Faso.
