Ouagadougou: The chief physician of the Arbinda Medical Center, Yamma Abdoul Guelila, reaffirmed on Monday the commitment of healthcare workers to contribute, each in their respective field, to the protection of the population, the restoration of peace, and the reconstruction of the nation. He was speaking at the monthly national flag-raising ceremony.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the gathering took place in an atmosphere imbued with patriotic fervor. It was attended by representatives of different social strata, technical services, and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS).
In his address, the head physician of the Medical Center emphasized that continuity of care in the current context is much more than a professional obligation. According to him, it is "a true act of patriotism and resilience."
He paid tribute to the staff who, despite security constraints and sometimes trying working conditions, chose to remain at the service of the citizens of Arbinda.
"You have continued to welcome the sick, to provide emergency care and to take care of pregnant women, children, displaced persons and vulnerable people," he said, adding that their presence helps to make the right to health a reality, even in difficult conditions.
Comrade Guelila also gave special mention to community health workers and village midwives, whom he presented as essential links in the system.
He also praised the commitment of the FDS and the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), stressing that peace remains essential for the population's access to care, the presence of agents in their workplaces and the continuity of technical services activities.
Taking the floor in turn, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Arbinda, Lazard Kiem©, praised the resilience and commitment of the local residents, as well as their participation in this republican event.
He thanked the active forces of the community for their participation in the traditional raising of the colors, which he presented as a demonstration of patriotism and attachment to the motherland.
The PDS also paid tribute to health workers for their dedication and resilience in carrying out their mission for the benefit of the population.
