Ouagadougou: School directors from the commune of Pouni took part on Friday, September 11, at the Tita C school, in a planning meeting focused on the generalization of bi-plurilingualism, staff movements, and preparations for the 2026-2027 school year. Chaired by the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Pouni, Bahini Edmon Coulibaly, this meeting aimed to provide the first heads of establishments with the necessary guidance for a successful school year.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the widespread adoption of the bilingual/multilingual approach was the first item on the agenda. This educational reform aims to optimize fundamental learning by combining the use of national languages and French. Addressing the issue of assignments for service needs, the CCEB explained that in addition to regulating staff numbers, these movements respond to an imperative of fairness to qualitatively strengthen educational teams in areas that express the need.

The miscellaneous section provided an opportunity to recall crucial deadlines, including the mandatory holding of teachers' councils scheduled for September 15th, as well as the strict rigor required in reporting cases of absence. Addressing the participants, the head of basic education in the municipality emphasized the importance of strong managerial leadership. He urged principals to streamline teacher allocation within their schools, taking into account specific skills and desired profiles to maximize academic performance.

With particular emphasis on the final year of primary school (CM2) exam classes, Mr. Coulibaly advocated for a collective effort. "For our CM2 classes, I am counting on the mobilization of the entire teaching team around the homeroom teacher. It is through unity and everyone's commitment that we will guarantee better results for our students," he urged.
