Nahouri: The Special Delegation of the municipality of Boussouma unanimously adopted the second amending budget for the 2026 fiscal year during its third ordinary session, bringing the overall budget to 628,329,227 CFA francs.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session, attended by heads of municipal departments, focused on examining and adopting the revised budget. The adjustment aims to ensure the continuation of activities and the functioning of the municipality amidst development challenges.

The municipality's initial 2026 budget was 252,190,936 CFA francs. It increased significantly to 628,329,227 CFA francs, with 219,695,328 CFA francs allocated for operating expenses and 500,339,928 CFA francs for investments. The second amending budget, adopted unanimously at 40,963,165 CFA francs, designates 20,963,165 CFA francs for operations and 9,192,633 CFA francs for investments.

Introducing the session's context, Madjoa Lompo, president of the special municipal delegation, discussed pressures on basic social services, declining economic activity, and difficulties in mobilizing local revenues. The budget guidelines emphasize maintaining municipal infrastructure, opening isolated villages, supporting youth, and improving access to basic social services.

The session also allowed members to familiarize themselves with the main budgetary guidelines for 2027. These focus on strengthening community resilience, social cohesion, participatory governance, fundraising, and implementing the municipality's priority projects.

Several decisions were made, including opening a professional competition for municipal officials and authorizing an agreement with the National Agency for Support to the Development of Local Authorities (ANAC) for the 2026-2028 scholarship offer for local authority employees.
