Bahrain Engages in Digital Transformation at UN Event

New York:Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Telecommunications at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, represented Bahrain at the Digital@UNGA 2026 event in New York. This event was held in conjunction with the United Nations General Assembly and organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event gathered senior officials, decision-makers, and representatives from governments, international organizations, and the private sector. The focus was on telecommunications, digital transformation, and emerging technologies, emphasizing innovation, digital inclusion, and international cooperation.

During the event, Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa conducted several bilateral meetings to enhance cooperation and share expertise in telecommunications and digital innovation. He met with Minna-Liina Lind, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, to discuss telecommunications and strengthen cooperation with international organizations.

Shaikh Ahmed also held discussions with Adam Cassady, US Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy, focusing on shared interests and enhancing cooperation in telecommunications and digital policy.
