Thyou High School Faces Urgent Infrastructure Crisis

Thyou:The Thyou departmental high school is in urgent need of an infrastructure overhaul as the new school year approaches.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the main building of the school, which has been in use for over twenty years, is in such a state of disrepair that simple repairs are deemed impossible. This was communicated by the headmaster and the chairman of the school board.

The school council and the educational community initiated a voluntary contribution drive last March to fund renovation efforts. However, a site visit in early September revealed that the situation had worsened, leading to a dead end in the rehabilitation project.

High school principal Boukar© Kabr© stated that the issue had been reported to the higher authorities, but a concrete response is still awaited. Despite the uncertainty and risks, the management team is preparing for the new school year, hoping for swift intervention from partners.

Principal Kabr© praised the dedication of the staff for achieving good academic results last year despite numerous obstacles. School board chairman El Hadji Ouss©ni Koala also commended the administrative staff for their commitment under challenging conditions. He noted that while support requests to various stakeholders have seen lukewarm responses, there is gratitude for current supporters, including the Maranata Church of Thyou, the METIU association, and His Majesty Naaba Tigr©.

The school's leaders are calling for a collective effort from parents, local residents, and well-wishers to address this urgent situation. This mobilization is essential to provide the school with the necessary infrastructure to ensure the students' development and the prosperity of the Thyou community.

The discussion ended with wishes for a successful start to the new school year and a strong appeal for immediate action to resolve the infrastructural challenges.
