2026-2027 Academic Year Commences in Gogo with Focused Enthusiasm

Gogo:The 2026-2027 academic year commenced in Gogo with teachers and educational staff actively welcoming students and initiating school activities in a focused environment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, from the Gogo A, B, and C school complex to the departmental high school and the Gogo general education college (CEG), educational teams were diligently working to ensure the reception of students, check attendance, and manage registration operations.

In the Gogo primary schools, teachers were occupied with checking attendance and recruiting students for the first year of preparatory classes (CP1). At the Gogo CEG, attendance was also underway, with several students already seated in their classrooms.

Issouf Idogo, the director of the Gogo CEG, expressed satisfaction with the start of the academic year and stated his goal for the establishment to achieve a 100% success rate in the Brevet d'©tudes du premier cycle (BEPC).

Principal Djakalia Ouattara of the Gogo Departmental High School also commended the beginning of the school year, setting attendance targets of 95% in intermediate grades and 95-100% in exam classes. However, he noted a decrease in student numbers, with the high school having 14 classes this year compared to 15 last year due to some dropouts.

For students, the return to school was also a time for reunions. N¨matou Sedego, a 5th-grade student at the Gogo Departmental High School, expressed her happiness at seeing her classmates and teachers again, stating, "It's a great joy for me to see my friends and teachers again. We're going to work hard this year to make our parents and teachers proud."
