Residents of Lilgomde Mobilize to Improve Local Roads

Baskoure:Residents of the Lilgomde district in Baskoure have united to enhance the condition of roads in their neighborhood.

According to Burkina Information Agency, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, the community came together, driven by civic engagement, to address the disrepair of their roads. Young and old alike participated in the initiative, using their own resources and physical efforts to develop the small roads connecting the main road to various parts of the neighborhood.

The traditional chief, the Lilgomde-Naaba, supported the initiative, joining in the efforts. After completing work on the secondary roads, the team focused on the bridge along the red road to the Baskoure market, where they faced more extensive repairs.

The Lilgomde-Naaba emphasized the importance of the community taking responsibility for their neighborhood's improvement rather than waiting for external intervention. He encouraged the community to contribute, no matter how modestly, to achieve collective development.

The traditional leader highlighted the necessity of supporting state development efforts, noting that while public authorities are active, the community must also participate in civic actions. He expressed hope that this initiative would inspire other districts in Baskoure to follow suit, thus improving conditions throughout the village.

The chief praised the youth of Lilgomde for their commitment and resourcefulness, noting their significant contribution to making the roads passable. The initiative aims to foster a spirit of solidarity and citizenship, enhancing the local environment and quality of life in Baskoure.
