Second Phase of Patriotic Engagement Days Launched in Thyou

Thyou:The President of the special delegation of the commune of Thyou, Rateba Dawega, officially launched the second phase of the Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation on October 3. This event was held in conjunction with the National Days of the Anti-Vectorate Fight.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, themed "Let's produce Burkinabe, let's consume Burkinabe," carries the slogan "All for Made in Burkina: let's make every purchase an act of sovereignty." The activities, scheduled to last two days, commenced with sanitation operations at public spaces like the town hall and the new gendarmerie site.

Rateba Dawega praised the high turnout of the population, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, and association representatives. He emphasized the significance of these days in raising awareness, enhancing patriotism, and promoting civic engagement, urging residents to incorporate these practices into their daily lives.

On the second day, sanitation efforts extended to private properties and the local market, led by Thyou's District Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Porgo. Assisted by health personnel, security forces, and local citizens, these efforts aimed to eliminate breeding grounds for disease vectors under the slogan "A healthy environment, healthy health," contributing to a reduction in malaria rates.

Dr. Porgo noted the substantial support from the community and the positive reception of awareness messages, which have led to a notable decrease in malaria cases in the area.

The organizing committee thanked all involved parties, including local authorities and His Majesty Naaba Tigre, who provided refreshments. The event concluded with a call to sustain cleanup activities and maintain community solidarity and active citizenship.
