Dm Sira Platform Raises Over 36 Million FCFA to Aid Vulnerable Populations

Ouagadougou:The "Dm Sira" platform, launched in June 2026, has successfully mobilized more than 36 million FCFA to support vulnerable populations, according to Lieutenant-Colonel Passowend Plagie Kabor, Minister of Family and Solidarity. The initiative has already benefited 25 individuals, with contributions from the National Solidarity Fund and the general public.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Dm Sira platform was highlighted as a major innovation at the government exhibition held during the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC). It enables people to submit social requests, make contributions, and for beneficiaries to share their experiences of the support received.

Since its inception, Dm Sira has addressed requests related to health, education, and income-generating activities. Funds raised include 23,285,330 FCFA from the National Solidarity Fund and over 13 million FCFA from the general public. The platform digitizes and analyzes applications based on social and economic criteria, with funding provided by the National Social Assistance and Solidarity Fund when requests fall within their threshold.

For larger needs, Dm Sira initiates public fundraising, allowing citizens to contribute. Donations can be directed towards specific beneficiaries or to general care for vulnerable groups, using platforms like Faso Arzeka.

The results of Dm Sira reflect the Ministry's commitment to accessible, transparent social action while encouraging citizen involvement in national solidarity. Additionally, the ministry's mobile social service has supported over 700 individuals, especially in Ouagadougou, urging the public to contact the service for assistance instead of sharing distressing images online.

The exhibition also featured the Single Social Register (SSR), which identifies and monitors vulnerable households to tailor interventions effectively. These initiatives aim to enhance social service accessibility and improve care for those in need.

Lieutenant-Colonel Passowend Plagie Kabor's presentation at the SIAO exhibition was part of the JEPPC 2026, focusing on the achievements of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) and providing a platform for government accountability and community engagement.
