Prefect of Sapon Urges Local Consumption During National Days

Sapon:The Prefect of Sapon, Koti Noël Sanou, has called on the residents of the department's 40 villages to prioritize transforming raw materials into finished products and to consume local goods. This appeal was made during the launch of the second phase of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JNEPPC) on September 5, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch ceremony was held at the prefecture, coinciding with the monthly national flag-raising event. The event was attended by His Excellency Naaba Sigri, Chief of the Sapon canton, military and paramilitary authorities, administrative service heads, and local residents. Prefect Sanou conveyed a message from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

The motto for this phase, "All for Made in Burkina: Let's make every purchase an act of sovereignty," encourages Burkinabe citizens to focus on consuming local products and supporting national producers, artisans, traders, and entrepreneurs.

President Traoré emphasized the importance of building a proud and sovereign nation through efforts in local fields, workshops, shops, and at the dining table. The ceremony served as a moment for the people of Sapon to reaffirm their dedication to patriotism, civic participation, and strengthening the sovereignty and resilience of Burkina Faso.
