Local Consumption Emphasized as Act of Sovereignty in Djibo

Djibo:The president of Djibo's special delegation, Comrade Hubert DRABO, initiated the second phase of the 3rd edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) on Monday. He emphasized the importance of local consumption as an act of sovereignty.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch was marked by a ceremony at the High Commission of Soum where the national flag was raised, and the national anthem was played. A message from the President of Burkina Faso was read, setting the tone for the event.

Comrade Hubert DRABO commended the dedication of Djibo's citizens to national causes. The current phase is themed with the slogan: "All for Made in Burkina: let's make every purchase an act of sovereignty." He encouraged the community to prioritize local products, highlighting their role in economic development and patriotism.

He also expressed gratitude on behalf of the High Commissioner to the province's vital forces for their participation in the Night of the Popular Progressive Revolution (PPR) on September 30, 2026. September saw various initiatives in the province, including a vector control campaign and recruitment efforts for local production projects.

Additional activities included the launch of construction work at Djibo's municipal high school and a sanitation day at the medical center. Cultural and community engagement events were also held, such as the KAWRITAL Cultural Days and the establishment of a market management committee.

Similar activities continued in other areas like Arbinda and Baraboul, where community efforts focused on social cohesion and local ingenuity. The second phase of JEPPC is set to continue on October 9, 2026, with a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing patriotic commitment and civic participation.
