Bobo-Dioulasso:The Plateau Yégueré Maracana Association (APYMA) hosted the 4th edition of its maracana tournament in Bobo-Dioulasso on October 31, 2026. The event was themed "Maracana, a vector for promoting integrity, patriotism, and unity," aiming to enhance social cohesion and fraternity among participants.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament featured 14 teams from Ouagadougou, Banfora, Orodara, and Bobo-Dioulasso, categorized into senior and super senior divisions. In the super senior category, APYMA triumphed over the Bobo-Dioulasso Association for the Promotion of Maracana (ABPS) with a 3-0 victory after a 15-minute match. For the senior category, APYMA and ABPS were evenly matched, leading to a penalty shootout where ABPS emerged victorious with a 3-2 score.

APYMA president Ali Congo expressed his satisfaction with the tournament's success and participation. He highlighted the event's role in fostering social cohesion and urged the people of Burkina Faso to unite and face national challenges together. Éric Mamourille Barboza, president of the Burkina Faso Maracana Federation, also commended the event for encouraging friendly interactions. Each participating team received balls, promotional items, and certificates to reinforce the spirit of unity.
