Burkina: A digital platform for collecting data on acquired plots and housing launched

Ouagadougou: The Ministry in charge of Land Affairs launched on Tuesday a digital platform for collecting data on plots and housing acquired from former real estate developers from 2008 to the present, in order to enable the State to make decisions on land in Burkina.According to the Secretary General (SG) of the Ministry of Urban Planning, Land Affairs and Housing, Maxime Tiendrébeogo, his department wants to inform buyers of plots from 2008 to 2024 through real estate developers, through a digital platform .Tiendrébeogo announced that information with buyers of plots on the platform began this Tuesday, March 12, 2024 and will last until March 22 at midnight.He was in Ouagadougou on Tuesday in front of journalists, at the official launch of the digital platform for collecting data on plots and housing acquired from former private developers.The SG in charge of Land Affairs also recalled that on June 20, 2023 the government adopted the law on real estate development in Burkina Faso.Maxime Tiendrébeo go also noted the establishment on August 18, 2018, of an interministerial committee for the evaluation of land liabilities by his department of private real estate development activity.'This committee brings together the actors in the urban land management chain, which are the ministry in charge of Urban Planning, the Economy and that of the Ministry of Territorial Administration,' he maintained.According to him, after the installation of the said committee, the administrative collection of data from the various structures concerned and information was requested, at the same time from previously approved private real estate developers and housing cooperatives following a certain number of frameworks.For Maxime Tiendrébeogo, these frameworks consisted of collecting information relating to the situation of plots and housing built in the actual state of servicing.According to him, the digital data platform was launched for buyers of plots and housing from real estate developers, in order to allow the St ate to resolve land liabilities.Tiendrébeogo pointed out that this platform concerns anyone who has acquired a plot or housing with a private real estate developer.He pointed out that the information on the platform concerns, among other things, any purchase with the previously approved real estate developer, the housing cooperative, the landowner, the previous purchaser or as compensation and donation.'The Ministry of Urban Planning, Land Affairs and Housing knows how to count on the commitment and contribution of all for the correct filling and within the required time of the digital platform,' he urged.Source: Burkina Information Agency
