Namentenga/Solidarity: An association provides the sum of more than 300 thousand FCFA to women of fallen VDP

The Secretary General of the Namentenga province, Bassouleymane Ouattara, handed over on Thursday April 4, 2024 in Boulsa, the sum of 373,175 FCFA to ten women from the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) who fell on the field of honor.'This solidarity action stimulates and encourages the rights holders of the Fighting Forces in the theater of operations,' indicated the Boulsa gendarmerie company commander, Sammuel Soubeiga.Ten women from the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell for their homeland each received a sum of 37,317 from the Nayinéré Association for the Development of Namentenga (ANDN), in the Center-North region. .This handover ceremony took place in the presence of the president of the ANDN, Antoine Ouédraogo, the prefect and president of the special municipal delegation of Boulsa, Issaka Sangla and officials of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS).'We sympathize in our own way with the pain of our widows and orphans with this donation of 374,175 fran cs to encourage them, to show them our gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice of their husbands for the homeland and to enable them to lead as much as possible a income-generating activity,' said the first head of the association, Mr. Ouédraogo.'We say thank you and ask other partners to follow in the footsteps of the ANDN,' added gendarmerie company commander Mr. Soubeiga .The representative of the beneficiaries, Awa Kondaaga thanked the ANDN and all the authorities who support them in this difficult security context in the country.The secretary general of Namentenga province, Bassouleymane Ouattara, for his part, congratulated the association for its numerous development actions and in particular its multiple contributions to the peace effort.Seizing the opportunity, Mr. Ouattara expressed the satisfaction of the active forces of the province to the Combatant Forces for the work done on the ground which allowed thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to return to their villages.Source: Bur kina Information Agency
