The High Commissioner of the Kourwéogo province, Siaka Barro, took part, on April 2, 2024 in Laye, in the ceremony of raising the national colors and also to discuss local development with the driving forces.After Niou and Toéghin, it is the turn of the commune of Laye to host the ceremony for the raising of the national colors.Accompanied by directors and heads of provincial services, the High Commissioner of Kourwéogo province, Siaka Barro, presided over the monthly ceremonial of honoring the national flag at the Laye prefecture.Executed by a mixed platoon made up of Water and Forestry agents, Prison Security Guards and the National Police, the event was attended by different social strata of the locality.The president of the special delegation of the commune of Laye, Seydou Millogo, took stock of the mobilization of communities and the actions undertaken to promote good citizenship in the commune.In addition to the institution of the raising of colors, collectively in a rotating manner in the se rvices, the health activities were accomplished.He presented visitors with a sample of mast base decoration created by a police officer with material support from the community.Siaka Barro sends his congratulations to the populations for their mobilization and the honor paid to his delegation.He especially praised the spirit of initiative and the availability of stakeholders to develop endogenous solutions to local problems.The High Commissioner invited them to strengthen these civic attitudes in order to promote the socio-economic progress of the municipality.Barro returned to the importance of government instructions relating to the promotion of patriotism.He indicated that the rise of colors in the workplace is an act by which the citizen renews his recognition to the homeland and remembers his duty to defend it and ensure its influence in the concert of nations.'Alongside these daily activities, the days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation act as moments of concrete expression of national pride,' he continued.For him, a feeling which must translate into acts of willingness to sacrifice for the defense of the homeland, the multiplication of actions to consolidate living together and promote economic and social sovereignty.The participants presented their concerns and grievances regarding the needs for infrastructure, equipment and security of administrative areas.There were also questions about technical training and youth employment, the provision of agricultural inputs on time, and the strengthening of income-generating activities for the benefit of women.Furthermore, the question of the high consumption of adulterated alcohol by young people and the land conflict between the villages of Sapéo and Boulala were raised.The technical services provided answers to infrastructure and equipment questions, as well as arrangements made to determine the conditions for resuming halted construction sites.In order to allow better capitalization and monitoring of actions taken by th e State and its partners, the president of the special delegation invites stakeholders to refer to municipal services for all activities in the municipalities.On the issue of the land conflict between the two villages mentioned above, Seydou Millogo indicated that the protagonists preferred settlement through legal channels.The High Commissioner of the province called for the combined efforts of the sons and daughters of the commune to help equip the VDPs.He also invited the populations of Laye in particular, the coordination of youth associations to support the actions of the special delegation in the fight against the consumption of adulterated alcohol.Source: Burkina Information Agency
