Ramadan: Muslims of Zorgho pray for the return of peace to Faso

On April 10, 2024, the town of Zorgho vibrated to the rhythm of the great prayer of Eid El Fitr, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan for the Muslim community. The faithful gathered at the Zorgho poultry market space, more familiarly known as 'Nons-raaga', for this spiritual and community event.Under the direction of the imam of the great mosque of Zorgho, El hadj Adama Sissao, the prayer took on a special meaning, enriched by the presence of the administrative authorities of the locality.Among them, the High Commissioner, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, the Secretary General of the province, Harouna Karambiri, and the President of the special municipal delegation of Zorgho, Valentin Badolo.They thus honored this major spiritual event with their presence. His Excellency, Naba Sanem, customary chief of Zorgho, also sent a delegation to represent the tradition on this solemn occasion.At the end of the prayer, Imam El hadj Adama Sissao expressed his gratitude to the authorities for their participat ion.He expressed wishes for health, harmony between citizens and above all a return to peace for the country.His prayers also extended to the country's leaders, in particular to Captain Ibrahim Traoré, president of the transition, inviting them to guide Burkina Faso towards an era of lasting peace and restored dignity.The Secretary General of Ganzourgou Province, Harouna Karambiri, on behalf of the High Commissioner, sent warm wishes for a happy Ramadan to all Muslims.He invited them to celebrate in moderation while urging them to continue to pray for the return of peace to the country.This celebration of Eid El Fitr in Zorgho was an opportunity not only to mark the end of the fast, but also to strengthen community ties and nourish hopes of peace and prosperity for all the inhabitants of Burkina Faso.Source: Burkina Information Agency
