Ouagadougou: The Nigerien NGO 'Ensemble Main dans la Main Niger-Russie' launched its activities on Tuesday in Niamey, with the aim of promoting friendship, mutual understanding and win-win cooperation between the people of Niger and Russia, we learned.'The NGO Ensemble Main dans la Main Niger-Russie' has the mission of strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the Nigerien and Russian people, while contributing to the economic, social and cultural development of Niger, declared Tuesday its national president, Doctor Dicko Mouhamadou. Dr Mouhamadou, whose comments were reported by the actuniger site, spoke on Tuesday in Niamey (Niger) during the NGO's activities.'Ensemble Hand dans la Main Niger-Russie' is an autonomous NGO which is committed to promoting rapprochement between the Nigerien and Russian people through various activities such as cultural events, field interventions, conferences, radio broadcasts and direct awareness-raising, he said.According to Dr Dicko Mouhamadou, Niger and Russia must know each other to work better together. In his opinion, it is necessary to rectify the negative stereotypes associated with the two countries, by highlighting their cultural and human wealth.The Secretary of Press and Communication of the NGO announces humanitarian actions, educational cultural events, and an inter-school sports tournament for the coming days in Niamey.Film screenings, friendship courses and international conferences are also planned to raise awareness and educate the public on current societal and political issues, adds Actuniger.Source: Burkina Information Agency
