The bodies of the Center-South region planted 3,200 plants on Saturday June 22, 2024 in Konioudou, commune of Kombissiri, in the province of Bazèga, on the occasion of the National Arbor Day, marking the official launch of the 2024 national reforestation campaign.The regional celebration of the 6th edition of National Tree Day (JNA) and the official launch of the 2024 national reforestation campaign took place in Konioudou, a village in the commune of Kombissiri, in the province of Bazèga.The holding of this day, under the theme 'Tree, a capital of resilience for endogenous development', aims to generate a general mobilization of all socio-professional layers for the restoration of forests and degraded lands.In Konioudou, on an area of ??one and a half hectares, the local population and the bodies of the Center-South region, headed by the governor of the said region, Massadalo Yvette Nacoulma/Sanou, planted 3,200 local forest species such as the Néré, the Baobab, the tamarind tree, the Acacia and other exotic species such as the Moringa and the Mango tree.For Massadalo Yvette Nacoulma/Sanou, this day is an opportunity to recall the essential role that trees play and to raise awareness among the population of the need to protect and preserve them.For the occasion, 100 other plants were given to the inhabitants of the village to be planted on their return home.The chief of Konioudou, Naba Boulga 2, was delighted with the choice made for his village and promised with his population to take good care of the plants planted.The 2024 national reforestation campaign, recalled the governor of the Center-South, continues until September 30, 2024.Source: Burkina Information Agency
