The governor of the Center-East region, Abdou Karim Lamizana, launched on Thursday July 4, 2024 in Tenkodogo, the Livestock Resilience and Competitiveness Project (PRECEL), on improving the sector agro-sylvo-pastoral.The Livestock Resilience and Competitiveness Project (PRECEL), launched on Thursday July 4, 2024 in Tenkodogo, was organized by the regional directorate in charge of Agriculture, animal and fisheries resources.PRECEL, which was born from the initiative of the government of Burkina Faso, aims to boost the improvement of animal productivity, the question of marketing and enable better functioning of the actors in the said sector.The specialist in charge of animal production at PRECEL, and communicator, Innocent Wenceslas Tapsoba, indicated that the World Bank has mobilized around 120 billion CFA francs to support the livestock sub-sector of our country.'Let's say that this project is structured around four components which will all contribute to improving and supporting the actors,' he said .The president of the regional union of fishing and aquaculture stakeholders in the Center-East Souleymane Yougbaré added that the project must accelerate in order to allow stakeholders to invest to obtain the best results.'We can say that it is a feeling of satisfaction that drives us given the launch of this project which will take into account several areas and allow actors in the Center-East to have funding to get started,' said he rejoiced.As for the representative of the Confédération paysanne du Faso, Aminata Siboné née Nombré, hoped that women would benefit from micro-projects.The regional director in charge of Agriculture, Germain Aimé Traoré, reassured all breeders in the region to do everything possible for the success of the project.'I would like to thank the Précel project coordinator for this opportunity which allows the Centre-East to benefit from the activities of this project,' noted Mr. Traoré.He reassured them to do everything possible to make the project a success in the region and also asked the stakeholders to take ownership of it and work towards its success.The governor of the Center-East region, Colonel Abdou Karim Lamizana, for his part reassured PRECEL officials of the measures taken to allow the population to fully enjoy the benefits of the project.'I would like to reassure you that the top officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries Resources will take all measures for better implementation of the project for the great happiness of the population,' he maintained.PRECEL, at a cost of 120 billion CFA francs, was launched on February 23, 2024 in the Houet province, Hauts Bassins region and will extend to the thirteen (13) regions of Burkina Faso over a period of six (06) years old.Source: Burkina Information Agency
