Sissili: The various religious and customary denominations in partnership with civil society organizations (CSOs) and the local administration organized a collective break on Monday, March 24, 2025 in L©o under the banner of "unity and fraternity." During this collective break, Muslims, Christians, and customary peoples united around a common meal.
According to Burkina Information Agency, administrative and judicial authorities, as well as constituted bodies, were also present at this collective break held on Monday, March 24, 2024, within the grounds of the Kutian school in the commune of L©o, in the Centre-West region. The organizers noted that this activity is part of the promotion of peace and coexistence and aims to strengthen social ties between the different religious denominations in the Sissili province.
The representatives of the various religious and customary communities expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to come together and engage in a moment of sharing and spirituality. They also advocated for peace, unity, and the return of peace to Burkina Faso.
This ceremony, organized under the sign of unity and fraternity, was highlighted as a moment where values of solidarity, tolerance, and mutual respect are fully expressed, emphasized the High Commissioner of Sissili, Tewind© Isaac Sia. Mr. Sia pointed out the importance of interreligious dialogue and remarked that Sissili province serves as a model of peaceful coexistence among different religious denominations.
He observed that religious diversity is a source of wealth and emphasized that through respect and mutual understanding, a united and supportive community can be built. The event concluded with a prayer and invocation session for the return of lasting peace to Burkina Faso, leaving participants satisfied.
