Nahouri: The High Commissioner of the Nahouri Province, Sie Aristide Mohamed Kam, presided over the flag-raising ceremony in P´ on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Held under the banner of strengthening patriotic sentiment, this ceremony provided an opportunity for the provincial authorities to call upon all stakeholders to heed the call for mobilization and the "buy local" initiative launched by the Head of State.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw administrative and judicial authorities, along with key figures from the province, gather at the P´ High Court for the ceremonial raising of the national colors. As the flag rose, attendees sang the national anthem in the Kassim language, reaffirming their commitment to the symbols of the Republic.
Jean Pierre Somtiligri Ouedraogo, the President of the P´ High Court, emphasized the importance of respecting national colors as an act of justice. 'This gesture we have just made is not merely a ritual. It is a reminder of our oath to the nation. As a house of justice, the High Court must embody the moral rigor and patriotism that are the foundations of a strong rule of law,' he stated, urging integrity in daily life.
High Commissioner Sie Aristide Mohamed Kam highlighted President Ibrahim Traore's message from the launch of the third edition of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation (JEPPC). He stressed that patriotism extends beyond defending territory with weapons to include economic choices and consumption habits.
Mr. Kam called on Nahouri's leaders to embrace sovereignty by supporting local producers and consuming Burkina Faso's products. 'Every local product purchased contributes to building our true independence,' he added, urging leaders to disseminate the President's message to their communities.
The ceremony concluded with a tasting of local dishes from the Djoatina association of P´, reinforcing the theme of local economic support.
