Kadiogo: AFCO Maracana clinched the trophy at the 15th edition of the Solidarity Tournament held in honor of Bouda Auguste, popularly known as "LeBig". The event took place at the Unique and One School Complex, where AFCO Maracana defeated Les Asso with a narrow margin of one goal to zero.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this year's tournament was a tribute to one of its late organizers, Auguste Bouda. The competition featured four teams: DFJ, AFCO Maracana, 2As, and Les Asso. The final match was a closely contested battle, with both AFCO Maracana and Les Asso displaying cautious strategies. However, AFCO Maracana managed to secure a decisive goal, ensuring their victory as time ran out.
Ric Tiemtor dit Sobil, the Director General of ETEC Consulting and sponsor of the event, commended the significant participation that has marked this tournament as a key moment for solidarity and social cohesion in Ouagadougou over the years.
The honorary patron, Brahima Congo, who is the President and CEO of Sport Time, applauded the organizers for maintaining the initiative. He also encouraged the youth to embody sportsmanship and camaraderie in honor of Auguste Bouda.
The tournament organizers expressed their dedication to maintaining this tribute through sports and extended gratitude to the partners who supported the 15th edition. With AFCO Maracana taking home the trophy and other accolades, the stage is set for the 16th edition to further the principles of unity and remembrance.
