Bale: Ramadan Celebration in Sibi, Muslim Faithful Pray for Peace

Ouagadougou: Muslim worshippers in Sibi, Bale province, prayed for peace on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the grounds of School B, behind the town hall.

According to Burkina Information Agency, with the crescent moon having been sighted on Thursday, March 19, thus ending the month of Ramadan, the Muslim community of Sibi participated in the great Prayer on Friday morning. The population of Sibi, including young people, children, adults, and the elderly, all converged on the designated place for prayer.

At 9 a.m., the voice of the central Imam of Sibi, El hadj Yacouba Tien, filled the space, marking the beginning of the prayer. After the two rakats, the Imam, in his sermon, first offered blessings to the entire Burkinab¨ nation. He also remembered the soldiers who fell on the front lines and all the souls who have departed.

Furthermore, social cohesion was a key theme of his sermon. He expressed his hope that the people would work together to build the Burkinab¨ nation. Finally, he offered his wishes for health, happiness, peace, and longevity to everyone.
