Bougouriba Mobilizes Over 21 Tons of Cement and 821,500 FCFA for Faso Mªbo Initiative

Diebougou: The province of Bougouriba mobilized, in a single day, more than 21 tons and 13 bags of cement, various equipment as well as a financial envelope of 821,500 CFA francs, during the official launch of the Faso Mªbo Presidential Initiative, on Saturday, March 28, 2026 in Diebougou, demonstrating a strong support of the population for this national dynamic initiated by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch event took place in the courtyard of the Diebougou High Commission with the presence of administrative, customary, and religious authorities, alongside many nationals. The ceremony began with Dimanche Palm, representative of the chief of the land of Diebougou, welcoming the authorities and guests, and seeking blessings for the initiative's success in the province.

Aime Ouedraogo, president of the special delegation of Diebougou, expressed joy over the launch, highlighting the potential positive impact on the area's development through collective local commitment. High Commissioner Amidou Konate shared optimism about the initiative's outcomes, anticipating further donations and the commencement of province-designed activities.

Minister Serge Gnaniodem Poda, alongside Minister Special Advisor Annuyirtole Roland Somda, initiated the contributions by donating 15 tons of cement, emphasizing the gesture's civic significance and its role in encouraging further participation in the Faso Mªbo initiative. Minister Poda highlighted the importance of collective contributions to enhance the well-being of Burkinabe people.

The event successfully gathered 21 tons and 13 bags of cement, additional equipment, and 821,500 CFA francs by day's end. To ensure the initiative's effective implementation, a steering committee led by the province's secretary general, Zenabo Kabore/Diallo, was established.

Governor Siaka Barro of the Dj´r´ region also attended the launch, reflecting the broad support for the initiative. Provincial authorities aim for swift, tangible actions benefiting the local population through collaborative stakeholder involvement.
