Oudalan: The special municipal delegation of Gorom-Gorom held its first extraordinary session of the year on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, dedicated to the examination and adoption of the Municipal Contingency Plan (PCC) 2026-2029, with a view to strengthening the protection of populations in the face of crises.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the special municipal delegation, Sibiri Neya, stated that this plan aims to anticipate and organize the municipality's response to climatic, security, and humanitarian risks. He indicated that the adopted document constitutes a strategic framework to better prepare interventions in the event of a crisis, for the benefit of the populations.
Mr. Neya emphasized the importance of rigorous planning and collective action in responding to emergencies. He reiterated that effective crisis management relies on coordination between local actors and technical partners. The chairman of the special delegation also praised the technical support of the National Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CONASUR) as well as the financial support of the ASMADE / OCADES Caritas consortium, which enabled the document to be finalized under good conditions.
During the session, participants received a detailed presentation covering the plan's objectives, risk analysis, critical assumptions, preparedness and response measures, and the financial requirements for its implementation. A practical simulation, including a video projection, an alert scenario and the identification of intervention groups, was also organized to strengthen the capacities of the participants.
Following discussions and amendments, the Gorom-Gorom Municipal Contingency Plan 2026-2029 was unanimously adopted. This adoption reflects the local authorities' commitment to strengthening the municipality's resilience to humanitarian, health, and climate risks.
