Burkina Faso: AIB Distinguished as an Ambassador of Volunteering

Ouagadougou: The Public Interest Group - National Volunteer Program in Burkina Faso (GIP-PNVB) elevated 14 structures and individuals to the rank of volunteer ambassadors on Friday in Ouagadougou, including the Burkina Information Agency (AIB).

According to Burkina Information Agency, these GIP-PNVB awards aim to encourage beneficiaries in their commitment and contribution to promoting volunteering in Burkina Faso. The awards also serve as a platform to celebrate, pay tribute, and unite around these individuals or organizations who dedicate themselves to the common good.

For the Director General of GIP-PNVB, Djourmite Nestor Noufe, this edition of International Volunteer Day seeks to honor the volunteers who, sometimes at the risk of their lives, contribute to the country's development. "On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, we wanted to organize a night to recognize all those who support us," he commented. Mr. Noufe emphasized that "recognition is the memory of the heart," considering it essential to celebrate the merit of actors to encourage their continued efforts.

Among the new ambassadors is the Burkina Information Agency (AIB), represented by its head, Seraphine Some/Millogo, who expressed receiving the distinction with honor and humility. "We are honored to receive the volunteer award. We dedicate it to all the staff of AIB and thank the organizers for this mark of consideration. This award encourages us to become more involved in development, visibility, and partner search activities for the organization," she stated. "We will invest more in supporting the program in its noble mission," she added.

The head of the GIP-PNVB also praised the concrete actions carried out by the nominees through their projects, awareness campaigns, and training. Placed under the theme: "Popular progressive revolution: role and contribution of volunteers," the ceremony highlighted the essential contribution of volunteering to social transformation, the defense of national values, and the building of a Burkina Faso resolutely committed to the path of progress and sovereignty.

According to the CEO of GIP-PNVB, volunteering is an essential lever for involving young people, strengthening social cohesion, and promoting a culture of responsibility and civic engagement. As a reminder, the GIP-PNVB's mission is to mobilize, train, supervise, and support thousands of volunteers throughout the national territory.
