Burkina faso: Burkina Faso has recorded the opening and relaunch of about twenty industrial units in 2025, a record never reached in a single year, the Minister in charge of Industry, Serge Poda, indicated on Tuesday in Ouagadougou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, 'The key achievements we accomplished in 2025 were in the industrial sector, with the relaunch and opening of some twenty industrial units, both in the public and private sectors,' stated Mr. Poda. The minister was speaking at the presentation of his department's performance contract for 2025, which reached an 87.77% completion rate.
These results reflect the vision of the President of Burkina Faso, Head of State, aimed at strengthening the country's industrial and economic sovereignty. 'This is a record in terms of the number of industrial units opened in a single year in our country. This has never been seen before, and it reflects the vision of our comrade, the President of Burkina Faso,' he added with satisfaction.
Mr. Poda cited, among others, the BRAFASSO unit in Ouagadougou, the AGROSEF unit in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Cajou, and the corn and wheat flour production unit in the city of Kaya, as recent achievements. According to the minister, these industrial units contribute to the local processing of raw materials, job creation, and a reduction in dependence on imports.
