Bittou: Education Stakeholders Rewarded After a Record 98.02% Pass Rate in the 2025 CEP

Bittou: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Bittou celebrated academic excellence for the year 2025 on Wednesday, honoring the best students, teachers, and educational actors, in a context marked by insecurity but also by a strong resilience of the educational community.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony took place on the grounds of the Bittou CEB (Basic Education Center), in the presence of government officials, traditional and religious leaders, educational supervisors, numerous students, as well as the Defense and Security Forces. It was presided over by the Secretary General of the Bittou Town Hall, Mathieu Guittanga, representing the President of the Special Delegation.

For academic excellence in 2025, ten top students, five girls and five boys, were recognized. Each received a bicycle and school supplies. Ten outstanding teachers were also honored, including two teachers designated as "resilient" for their dedication in challenging areas. They received certificates and cash prizes ranging from 35,000 to 50,000 CFA francs.

According to Soumada Yameogo, Head of the Bittou Basic Education District, this ceremony aimed to highlight the efforts of all those involved in education that led to these exceptional results.

'The Bittou Primary Education District (CEB) achieved a 98.02% pass rate on the 2025 Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP), ranking first in the province. This is a first in the district's history, and this in a challenging security context,' he emphasized.

He recalled that at the beginning of the 2025 school year, a target of 90% had been set. Of the 25 schools in the CEB, 23 met this target. In this context, 44 teachers and a former COGES (School Management Committee) president were recognized. In total, more than 65 people received awards.

Mr. Yameogo expressed his gratitude to the Bittou Special Delegation for its unwavering support, while urging teachers to redouble their efforts to maintain the momentum, with a new target of a 95% success rate.

In his address, Mr. Guittanga congratulated all the teachers for their efforts and reaffirmed the Special Delegation's steadfast support for the Bittou CEB (Basic Education Center), while also commending the community's mobilization.

Held under the theme "Resilience for Educational Continuity in the Bittou Commune," the ceremony also featured a speech by Mr. Sare, former president of the COGES (School Management Committee) of the Berlayala school, who offered wishes for peace and harmonious coexistence for quality education.
