Burkina Faso: The New Director General of the Treasury Pledges to Serve the Country with Dedication, Loyalty and Patriotism

Ouagadougou: The new Director General of the Treasury and Public Accounting (DGTCP), Jean Yves Belem, pledged on Friday in Ouagadougou, during his installation, to serve Burkina Faso with dedication, loyalty and patriotism, in the best interests of the Nation and in respect of the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the new Director General of the Treasury reiterated his full commitment to working under the authority of the Minister of Economy and Finance and in accordance with his directives. "The vision and guidelines established will direct my actions at the head of the Treasury," he affirmed.

He also reaffirmed his firm commitment to working in perfect synergy with all departments of the Ministry of Economy and Finance as well as with all public administrations. Mr. Belem called on his colleagues to mobilize, work together, and innovate so that they could write a new and glorious chapter in the history of the Burkina Faso Public Treasury. "The projects defined by the President of Burkina Faso require the commitment of everyone," he emphasized.

The new Director General praised the work done by his predecessor, Bruno Bamouni, who has retired, and assured him of his commitment to continue and consolidate the achievements of his work. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Vieux Abdoul Rachid Soulama, who installed Jean Yves Belem, invited the latter to maintain his reputation as a hard worker and to govern by example.

"Show your colleagues the way forward, listen to them and work constantly to create and reinforce in each one the feeling that they are an important link in the chain on which the administration and the whole country depend," he urged. He also reassured the new Director General and all staff of the support of the ministerial authorities to enable the DGTCP to succeed in its mission.

Addressing the outgoing Director General, Bruno Bamouni, the Secretary General indicated that under his leadership, numerous reforms had been successfully implemented and significant gains achieved by the Treasury. He congratulated him on his accomplishments and wished him a peaceful retirement. For his part, Mr. Bamouni thanked the authorities and all the staff for their support and the results achieved, before wishing his successor every success.
