Sport and Culture Integral to Child Education, Says PDS Zakaria Sawadogo

Nayala: "Sport and culture play an essential role in the education of our children," affirmed the President of the Special Delegation of Toma (PDS), Zakaria Sawadogo, during the launch of the activities of the Organization of Sport, Culture and Leisure at Primary School (OSCLEP) of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Toma, for the 2025-2026 school year. The event underscored the importance of sport and culture in the educational framework for children.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the OSCLEP edition, themed "The promotion of sport and culture in primary school, a factor of peace and social cohesion in a context of resilience," aims to foster comprehensive education through sporting and cultural activities. Zakaria Sawadogo emphasized the crucial role of these activities in child education, urging students to engage with enthusiasm and upholding the municipality's commitment to such initiatives.

Rassa Natacha Kabore, Chair of the organizing committee, expressed gratitude for the support from both administrative and educational authorities. She highlighted the benefits of these activities for student development, advocating for values such as fair play and teamwork.

Ky Bruno, Head of the Toma Basic Education Commission, reiterated the significance of sport and culture as educational pillars. He noted their role in character building, discipline, solidarity, and fostering social cohesion and resilience among students.

Traditional leader Remi Toe offered prayers for successful competitions and peace in the Nayala province. The event featured an exhibition match between Toma North School and Toma South School, which ended in a goalless draw. The OSCLEP edition will host approximately thirty matches, culminating in a final in April 2026.
