Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe government on Tuesday suspended until further notice throughout the national territory, the importance of wheat flour with a view to cleaning up the market for consumer products.'The Ministry of Industrial Development, Trade, Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises informs economic operators that, as part of the consolidation of the consumer products market, the importation of flour from wheat is suspended throughout the national territory until further notice,' indicates a press release received by the AIB on Tuesday.'Consequently, the importation of wheat flour being subject to a special import authorization (ASI), the issuance of ASIs for wheat flour is also suspended,' adds the same document.According to the said press release, any contravention of this decision is subject to sanctions in accordance with the regulations in force.To report any cases of non-compliance with the terms of the said document, the ministry has made free toll-free numbers available to users.
