Ouagadougou: The new Director of monitoring and promotion of municipal police ( DSPPM), Municipal Police Inspector , Jean Marie Ouédraogo, declared Thursday that the municipal police must play its role as a bulwark for the security of populations as well as internally displaced populations .'It is therefore up to us, with the directors and commanders of the municipal police, to play our role as a bulwark to guarantee the security of our populations as well as the internally displaced populations in our respective cities , ' indicated the new Director of Police . monitoring and promotion of municipal police ( DSPPM ), the Municipal Police Inspector , Jean Marie Ouédraogo.He was officially installed Thursday in Ouagadougou, in his role as DSPPM, by the Director General of Territorial Communities, Issoufou Kongo .According to Mr. Ouédraogo , it is in this context of generalized insecurity which constitutes a challenge for municipal police officers that they must play their role for the security of the popu lations of the different municipalities .The new Director expressed his gratitude to the authorities who placed their trust in his modest person to lead the Directorate for Monitoring and Promotion of Municipal Police.He also paid tribute to his predecessor, Municipal Police Inspector , Kiénou Waman , who spent seven years at the head of the department..Jean Marie Ouédraogo also called for synergy of action with the various security forces with a view to boosting terrorism outside Burkina Faso .' The municipal police cannot and must not be on the sidelines of this fight and we will strive for full participation and total integration of the municipal police as a link in the chain of the fight against terrorism in Burkina ,' he said. -he adds.Appointed in the Council of Ministers on Wednesday February 27, 2024 as DSPPM , the Municipal Police Inspector , Jean Marie Ouédraogo , replaces the Municipal Police Inspector , Waman Kienou , who held this position since October 2017 .Source: Burkina Informat ion Agency
