Ouagadougou: From October 19 to November 2, 2025, the Burkinabe Combat Forces conducted a series of coordinated operations that neutralized numerous terrorists and destroyed several of their bases in the Koulse, Goulmou, Liptako, and Bankui regions, AIB has learned.
According to Burkina Information Agency, on October 19, units of the 8th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), supported by ESRI 1 and Leopard teams, confronted terrorists on motorcycles in the Pibaore area. After an exchange of fire, the attackers were pursued by air and neutralized. Two days later, on October 21, an attack on an outpost in Kilma was repelled by ground forces, followed by strikes on the fleeing rebels. On the same day, a terrorist headquarters in Korko, north of Barsalogho, was destroyed.
On October 22, several criminals were neutralized at their base in Demniol, east of Silmange. On October 24, a large-scale air operation was launched after a significant terrorist convoy was detected north of Yamba. The enemy column was completely destroyed, and a substantial arsenal was seized.
On October 25, successive airstrikes destroyed an enemy position, while an attempted attack on defensive positions in Koumbago (Bam province) was vigorously repelled. The routed terrorists abandoned their weapons, several bodies, and one captured member. In the Bankui Region, on October 29, combat units based in Tougan, Sourou Province, intercepted a suspicious movement. Air assets intervened quickly, neutralizing the enemy and destroying their equipment.
On October 30, a group planning attacks against Kongoussi, Tikare, and Kossouka was targeted in Nassere. The strikes destroyed their hideouts and eliminated the survivors. Another strike, carried out the same day, targeted sleeping terrorists, followed by a sweep by special forces. On October 31, a terrorist group in the village of Temnaore, near Kossouka, was spotted and then destroyed by coordinated strikes that destroyed their equipment.
On November 1st, a unit of the 19th BIR ambushed a group of enemy lookouts who had come to spy on its positions. All members of the group were neutralized. Finally, on November 2, a surgical strike north of Barsalogho targeted a meeting of senior terrorist leaders, neutralizing several commanders and destroying their vehicles and weapons depots.
These operations, carried out with coordination, reflect the firm will of the Fighting Forces to liberate the national territory from the grip of terrorists. They also illustrate the rise in power of the defense system, marked by the complementarity between land forces, special units, and air assets, now capable of intervening simultaneously on several fronts.
According to military authorities, operations are continuing relentlessly, with the objective of restoring the free movement of people and goods, and the total reconquest of the national territory.
