Burkina’s Patriotic Immersion Program Trains Over 3,800 Graduates in Yaadga Region

Ouahigouya: More than 3,800 high school graduates in Burkina Faso's Yaadga region have embarked on a training program focused on patriotism and citizenship. The program, officially launched by the governor of the Yaadga region, Thomas Yampa, was held in Ouahigouya and was attended by various regional officials.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative was introduced by the highest authorities in the country to instill a sense of patriotic culture, civic-mindedness, and good citizenship among the youth. The launch ceremony featured a raising of the national colors and a chorus rendition of the Ditany¨, as well as a message from the Head of State. The President of Faso emphasized the importance of these values in perpetuating the nation's ancestral heritage.

Captain Ibrahim Traor©, referred to as Comrade President, also addressed the graduates, highlighting the significance of the progressive and popular revolution (RPP) in Burkina Faso. Governor Yampa further encouraged the participants, urging them to absorb the teachings from their instructors, as they represent the future leaders of the nation.

Drissa Belem, the regional director of post-primary and secondary education in Yaadga, explained that the patriotic immersion program builds on civic education taught in schools. Over the course of a month, participants will engage in modules covering patriotism, civics, and sports exercises across four main sites in the region.

The event concluded with graduates expressing enthusiasm and discipline, despite a light rain, which Governor Yampa considered a natural blessing.
