Johannesburg: A child dies after being struck with a stick meant for his mother.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tragic incident unfolded on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Orow, a village within the commune of Tansila. The unfortunate event occurred amidst a heated argument between a husband and wife. In a fit of rage, the man attempted to strike his wife with a stick, but as she managed to dodge the blow, the stick inadvertently struck their child who was nearby.

The severely injured child was rushed to the local Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) for medical attention. Sadly, despite the efforts of medical personnel, the child succumbed to his injuries shortly after being admitted.

This heartbreaking incident took place in the village of Orow, situated approximately 10 kilometers from Tansila, the commune's capital, and about 45 kilometers from Solenzo. The event serves as a grim reminder of the potentially tragic outcomes of domestic violence within families.
