Nandiala:A community-based social mobilization effort in the rural commune of Nandiala has successfully raised over 7 million FCFA for acquiring or repairing an ambulance for the local Medical Center.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the campaign, launched six months ago, generated a total of 7,263,500 FCFA. The initiative encouraged citizen contributions of 1,000 FCFA per man and 500 FCFA per woman, with an ad hoc committee reaching out across the commune's twelve villages and engaging both local and external diaspora.

Despite this significant fundraising achievement, Aminata Diallo, the president of the special delegation of Nandiala, stated that the amount is still insufficient to purchase a new ambulance. Repairing the existing, heavily damaged ambulance is also risky, as it might not provide a long-term solution.

Currently, the medical center relies on ambulances from Koudougou, 25 kilometers away, or from other nearby health facilities. To overcome these challenges, the president is appealing to the community and well-wishers for additional support, emphasizing the need for a new ambulance to alleviate the community's healthcare difficulties and save lives.
