Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, chaired the weekly Council of Ministers this Wednesday. According to the Minister of State, Government Spokesperson, Jean Emmanuel OUEDRAOGO, the council examined several reports and made important decisions for the smooth running of the Nation.On behalf of the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Foresight, the Council adopted three decrees dissolving the Informal Sector Support Fund (FASI), the Employment Promotion Support Fund (FAPE) and the Support Fund for Youth Initiatives (FAIJ).According to the Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Aboubakar SAVADOGO, the dissolution of these funds follows the creation, in December 2023, of the Faso Kuna Wili fund which brings together their attributions and missions. One of the difficulties leading to the dissolution of these funds is the budgetary imbalance observed in their management. Indeed, it was noted that the operating budget of these structures largely exceeded the budget devo ted to financing the beneficiaries' projects, said the minister who specified that the liabilities and assets of these three funds will be transferred to the Faso Kuna Fund. Wili except for the staff.'The contract of all staff will be terminated and discussions will be undertaken for their redeployment,' indicated Minister Aboubakar SAVADOGO.Under the Ministry of Industrial Development, Commerce, Crafts, Small and Medium Enterprises, the Council adopted two decrees respectively creating a state company called the National Office of Dams and Hydro-Agricultural Developments (ONBAH) and dissolution of the Water and Rural Equipment Execution Agency (AGETEER).For the Minister of the Environment, Water and Sanitation, Roger BARO, the missions of ONBAH, as delegated project owner, consist of intervention on hydraulic infrastructures and development of the rural area in particular hydro-agricultural developments, dams and small water reservoirs, wells and boreholes, rural equipment and constructions.As projec t manager, ONBAH will be involved in detailed technical studies of construction and rehabilitation projects for dams and ancillary works for agricultural, pastoral, human, electrical and mixed uses.With the dissolution of AGETEER, its assets will be transferred to ONBAH, which reports to the ministry in charge of agriculture and will contribute to food sovereignty.Source: Burkina Information Agency
