Dolo: Students at the Saptan CEG Urged to Demonstrate Civic Responsibility and Patriotic Commitment

Dolo: Students at the Saptan CEG were encouraged to demonstrate civic responsibility and a commitment to patriotism during a recent ceremony. The prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Dolo, Iliassa Ouedraogo, presided over the monthly ceremony of raising the national colors at the General Education College (CEG) of Saptan. The event emphasized civic duty, discipline, and nurturing a commitment for a prosperous Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony drew a strong turnout, including students, teachers, administrative staff, public and private service agents, as well as the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) population of Saptan. This high level of participation is seen as a reflection of the community's growing embrace of patriotic values and new dynamics.

During the ceremony, the national anthem, the Ditany¨, was sung by all participants, while Water and Forestry agents raised the national colors. Students also performed the anthem of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES), showcasing their commitment to regional integration and solidarity.

Iliassa Ouedraogo, in his speech, highlighted the significance of the flag-raising as a moment of "national consciousness." He reminded attendees that the flag symbolizes the history of the Burkinab¨ people, the sacrifices of their predecessors, and the shared aspirations for a brighter future. His message aligned with the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC).

He specifically addressed the students, referring to them as "builders of tomorrow's Burkina Faso," urging them to adopt responsible behaviors. These include respect for teachers, diligence in their studies, rejecting cheating and violence, and fostering love for their country. He emphasized that patriotism is demonstrated through simple, everyday actions and that a strong nation relies on conscious, responsible, and committed citizens.

Casimir Ouedraogo, the headmaster of Saptan CEG, expressed his gratitude to the municipal authorities for selecting his school for the ceremony. He also thanked all participants for their engagement and support.
