Banwa: The civil society of the Sirba region presented, this Friday, June 19, 2026 in Fada N’Gourma, a financial contribution of 1.93 million CFA francs intended for the orphans of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell on the field of honor.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation handover ceremony, presided over by the governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, mobilized administrative authorities, representatives of the fighting forces as well as nationals from the province of Sirba.
This contribution is the result of a vast mobilization of the daughters and sons of Sirba through several digital platforms set up to raise awareness and unite energies around support for the fighting forces.
The governor praised a patriotic and highly symbolic gesture that reflects the solidarity of the people towards the families of the fighters who fell in defense of the homeland. He invited other components of the vital forces to follow in the footsteps of the initiators of this action and to further strengthen collaboration with the forces engaged on the ground for the reconquest of the national territory.
The spokesperson for the donors, Limanipo Lankoand©, indicated that this initiative aims to demonstrate the gratitude of the people towards the FDS and the VDP who are making enormous sacrifices for the return of peace. “I hope that economic operators, civil servants and the population will join hands, collaborate frankly with the fighting forces, and unite their forces for peace in Sirba,” he declared.
For Mr. Lankoand©, this donation also constitutes a message of hope to the orphans of fallen fighters, so that they know they are not alone and that the whole province remains mobilized on their side. This action is part of the national dynamic of solidarity and support for the fighting forces engaged in the fight against terrorism.
