Ouagadougou: Approximately 25 tons of sugar, 10,000 liters of cooking oil, and 5,000 cartons of soap are being sold daily through Faso Yaar shops, according to Commander Moussa Bako, the Director General of the state company Faso Yaar. He made this announcement on Friday, marking the 10th day since the launch of a special operation aimed at providing consumer products to the public.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Commander Bako expressed satisfaction with the progress of the operation during a press conference held at the organization's headquarters. He highlighted that the public has shown great appreciation for the initiative, which allows them access to high-demand products, particularly sugar, at social prices.

The special operation, initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Handicrafts, is designed to make essential products available at fair and affordable prices. The current offerings include sugar, cooking oil, juice, and soap, which are in high demand among households.

Commander Bako revealed that the plan includes 57 sales outlets across 30 locations in the country, with 22 situated in Ouagadougou. While two outlets in the capital have yet to be supplied, they are expected to receive their stocks shortly, he assured.

He praised the public for their support of the initiative and urged them to act responsibly and adhere to the measures implemented to ensure more households can benefit. Commander Bako reiterated Faso Yaar's commitment to maintaining a steady supply of essential consumer goods at all participating locations.

This special sale will run from February 18, 2026, to March 27, 2026, coinciding with the period of the Muslim fast and the Christian Lent.
