Zondoma: The flag-raising ceremony for November at the High Commission in Gourcy served as a platform to raise awareness about the increasing number of traffic accidents in the city of Naaba Yadega. The event, held on November 10, 2025, was presided over by High Commissioner Aboubacar Sidiki Nabe and attended by prominent community figures.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the event's turnout and emphasized the importance of maintaining commitment to road safety initiatives. He particularly praised the young students present, acknowledging their potential as future leaders.
Provincial authorities used the occasion to address the surge in traffic accidents, particularly focusing on the role of young people. The authorities highlighted speeding as a primary cause of these accidents and urged attendees to adopt more responsible behaviors on public roads to reduce the number of casualties.
In response to the rising accident rates, a public conference on road safety was organized last month to educate school children. The authorities also noted a decrease in front-line conflicts, attributing this to the efforts of deployed combat forces. The ceremony concluded with preschool children presenting a symbolic gift to the High Commissioner.
