Ouagadougou: The freight forwarders' team emerged victorious in the 3rd edition of the Koulplogo Inter-Trade Cup (CIM/K) in Cinkans, defeating the provisional registration team 1-0 on penalties. The competition aimed at strengthening ties between different trades, promoting social cohesion and resilience.

According to Burkina Information Agency, after two 15-minute periods ended in a goalless draw, the match was decided by a penalty shootout, with the freight forwarders clinching the title. The tournament, which began on August 15, 2026, involved seven teams and centered around the theme of mixing professions for social cohesion in Koulplogo.

The organizing committee reported that 23 matches were played without disputes, with a total of 28 goals scored. Mahamadou Saramb, president of the special delegation (PDS) of Yargatenga, praised the decision to host the competition in his municipality and thanked the organizing committee, the sponsor, and partners for their efforts.

Saramb emphasized the role of football in fostering social cohesion and resilience and encouraged fair play among the finalists. He also urged the local population to support the completion of the Cinkans medical center.

Moustapha Yangan, acting provincial director of Sports, Youth, and Employment (DPSJE), expressed satisfaction with the competition's smooth conduct, highlighting the exemplary fair play and fraternal atmosphere. He extended gratitude to the sponsor, Sita Sawadogo of Song Taaba FC, and other supporters, including the Defense and Security Forces and health teams.

Adama Zampaligr, representing the sponsor, commended the initiative for connecting young people and enlivening Cinkans, advocating for the promotion of community spirit. Sadou Oudraogo, the High Commissioner of Koulplogo, reiterated the CIM/K's goal of reinforcing ties between public and private sector workers to enhance social cohesion.

In addition to the trophy, the winning team received a ball, a set of jerseys, medals, and a cash prize of 100,000 CFA francs.
