Gayeri: An Easter Seminar to Promote Unity and Social Cohesion

Gayeri: The CIE-MIA Church of Gayeri organized, from April 1 to 3, 2026, an Easter seminar around the theme "Jesus Christ lives, moreover he reigns", with the objective of strengthening the faith of the faithful while calling for national unity. Led by coordinating pastor Tindano B. Ezekiel and pastor Yada Atina, this spiritual gathering mobilized many faithful as well as residents of the commune of Gayeri, who came to commune in prayer and biblical teaching.

According to Burkina Information Agency, for three days, participants took part in intense prayer sessions focused on security, peace, and social cohesion in Burkina Faso. Pastor Tindano B. Ezekiel noted that these sessions were marked by "defensive and offensive prayers" aimed at countering the divisive forces that weaken society. 'The enemy seeks to divide us in order to better rule and seize our land and mineral resources,' he stated, emphasizing that this strategy sometimes involves the manipulation of religion. He thus urged the people of Burkina Faso to exercise discernment and prioritize national unity over religious affiliations.

For the organizers, this seminar was not limited to a spiritual framework, but also part of a civic dynamic. Indeed, the teachings provided emphasized individual and collective responsibility in preserving peace. Pastor Tindano emphasized that "Jesus Christ knows no religion, only the kingdom of God," thus calling for transcending denominational divisions to build a united nation. He also urged participants not to allow themselves to be manipulated into actions that could harm social cohesion.

Alongside prayers for the nation, healing and deliverance sessions were organized, strengthening the spiritual commitment of the faithful. This Easter seminar thus appears as an initiative combining faith and civic engagement, in a context where national unity remains an imperative to face the security and social challenges of Burkina Faso.
