Gnagna: The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Gnagna organized a solemn flag-raising ceremony this Thursday, on the occasion of the 3rd National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation. Presided over by the Provincial Director, Mr. Sylvain Thiombiano, the ceremony brought together educational supervisors, department heads, administrative staff, teachers, and students in an atmosphere of discipline and patriotic fervor, gathered around the national flag, a symbol of unity and sovereignty.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the theme "Let's produce Burkinab¨, let's consume Burkinab¨: our plate, our pride," as part of a national initiative to strengthen civic engagement, promote local consumption, and encourage citizens to support the peace process. In his address, Mr. Thiombiano called on those involved in education to embody the values of dignity, integrity, and responsibility. He particularly emphasized the need to prioritize local production and consumption, which he presented as essential drivers for a resilient economy and strengthened national sovereignty.
Addressing the students, Mr. Thiombiano urged them to cultivate self-esteem and pride in their identity, praising their neat presentation, which he described as a reflection of discipline and self-respect-qualities indispensable for shaping the citizens of tomorrow. The ceremony also served as a platform to share information regarding the contribution to the peace effort initiated by the Eastern Regional Directorate, as well as the Provincial Director's sponsorship of the final stages of the Burkina Faso School Sports Union (USUBF), reflecting the educational authorities' commitment to social cohesion and youth development.
Beyond its symbolic nature, this flag-raising ceremony became a moment for raising awareness and collective mobilization, inviting every citizen to translate patriotism into concrete actions in their daily lives.
