After spending two years at the head of the eastern regional directorate of the national police, Divisional Police Commissioner Barthélémy Yanogo handed over, on May 13, 2024, to the divisional police commissioner Yacouba Ouattara.Police Commissioner Bienvenu Kamboulé, on behalf of police personnel, paid tribute to Barthélémy Yanogo for the work accomplished by their structure thanks to his human and management qualities.He maintained that under the leadership of Mr. Yanogo, several units, including the Mobile Intervention Unit Groups (GUMI), were created and gave satisfactory results in the fight against terrorism and the great banditry in the Eastern region.According to Commissioner Kamboulé, these results were not obtained without difficulty because some of their colleagues and security auxiliaries (VDP) paid with their blood in the fight for the reconquest of the homeland.The divisional police commissioner Barthélémy Yanogo, called to other functions, saluted the highest authorities and the nation al police authorities for the renewed confidence in his person.He expressed his gratitude to his staff who followed him, often despite adversity, as well as to all the bodies in the Eastern region who never abandoned him in difficult times.While congratulating his successor, he urged the bodies to support the new regional director so that he succeeds in the exercise of his new function for the good of all.Divisional police commissioner Yacouba Ouattara has already measured the immensity of his task, but he remains confident. To this end, he declared that the challenges, faced with the context marked by terrorism and organized crime, are immense but that results are possible with the commitment of all. The new regional director invited all of the FDS, the daughters and sons of Gulmu, to mobilize in this fight against our common enemies.As for the president of this ceremony, the SG of Gourma province, Siaka Ouattara, hoped that the new police commander would tactfully manage his personnel, taking into a ccount his youth, and work with all the fighting forces to obtain convincing results.Source: Burkina Information Agency
