Sissili: The Governor of the Nando region, Adama Jean Yves Br, visited the Provincial High School and the Municipal High School in Lo, Sissili Province, on August 22, 2026, to support conscripts involved in the 2026 Mandatory Patriotic Immersion Program (IPO). The visit aimed to observe the living conditions of the conscripts from Sissili and Ziro.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Governor Adama Jean Yves Br was accompanied by Pema Neya, the Special Envoy for Nando at the Presidency of Burkina Faso, along with administrative and educational officials. The governor's visit included sharing a meal with the students and observing their performances and military demonstrations. The Provincial High School in Lo educates 509 boys, while the Municipal High School educates 538 girls.
Addressing the conscripts, Adama Jean Yves Br expressed satisfaction with the training program's progress, affirming its alignment with the vision of President Captain Ibrahim Traor. The governor urged the graduates to become "ambassadors of resilience and patriotism" starting from their graduation ceremony on August 27. He highlighted the importance of rejecting treachery and imperialism and emphasized the potential for national development. The governor also acknowledged the dedication of instructors and supervisors.
Lawabien Serge To, the Provincial Director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, provided a positive assessment of the program's organization. He noted the significant maturity gained by the participants compared to the previous year and mentioned that the recruits are now ready to serve the nation.
Conscripts shared their experiences, with Bambara Abdoul Aziz from Sapouy's provincial high school highlighting the strengthened social cohesion and support quality. Jessica Roukiatou Dagano, a conscript from Boura, appreciated the opportunity to engage with authorities, expressing hope for continued exchanges to sustain civic momentum.
Aboubacar Compaor, a facilitator-trainer, described the three-week immersion as a success in enhancing civic and moral skills. He expressed optimism for the continuation of this initiative in future editions.
