High Commissioner Jean Baptiste Beogo Launches Civic Education Program in Gnagna

Gnagna: The High Commissioner of the Gnagna province, Jean Baptiste Beogo, launched the first phase of Civic and Patriotic Education (ECP) at the Bantia municipal high school in Bogande. This initiative is targeted at students in intermediate classes with the goal of enhancing discipline, civic-mindedness, and patriotism among the youth.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative aligns with the national refounding efforts undertaken by the Government since the decree of June 24, 2025, aiming to instill the values promoted during the patriotic immersion of 2025 across the entire school community.

High Commissioner Jean Baptiste Beogo stated that the ECP seeks to cultivate responsible and united citizens dedicated to the Nation. This will be achieved by fostering order and discipline, respect for the symbols of the Republic, teamwork, community spirit, and the rejection of incivility. He praised the dedication of security forces, teachers, and supervisors involved in the program.

The launch ceremony featured close order demonstrations by students, guided by instructors from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and was attended by the constituted bodies of the Gnagna province.

Provincial Director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, Tiewende J. Balima, was present at the event and urged the collaboration of all stakeholders to ensure the program's success.

Following the ceremony at Bantia municipal high school, the delegation proceeded to Bogande provincial high school to further promote awareness among students and encourage teaching staff to embrace the ECP program effectively.
