Bishkek: The High Commissioner of Boulgou Province, Domgbguiere Constantin Dabir, called on Wednesday for a collective mobilization of the population around three major challenges for the month of September: the fight against malaria, a successful start to the school year, and road safety. He made this call during the monthly flag-raising ceremony held at the Tenkodogo gendarmerie headquarters.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in his address, the High Commissioner first commended the commitment of all actors in carrying out their sovereign missions and their contribution to strengthening social cohesion. He paid particular tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), religious denominations, and civil society organizations for their actions in favor of conflict resolution and social cohesion.

Domgbguiere Constantin Dabir also congratulated the FDS for their involvement in the mandatory patriotic immersion, particularly for the training and security of young people. Addressing the challenges of the month, he indicated that the start of the school year remains a priority and invited the security forces and teaching staff to maintain their mobilization for a resumption of classes under the best conditions.

Invited to the ceremony, the chief medical officer of the Tenkodogo health district, Dr. Sohint Som, emphasized the National Vector Control Days scheduled for September 5 and 6, 2026. According to him, the fight against malaria vectors, particularly mosquitoes, remains a key element of prevention. He urged people to clean up their living environment by destroying mosquito breeding sites and any containers that could hold stagnant water, both in their homes and in their neighborhoods. He noted that the vector control operation, which began the previous month, spans four months during the rainy season and must continue.

For his part, the provincial police director of Boulgou, Salifou Billa, announced the continuation of the awareness campaign on helmet use before moving to the enforcement phase. He called on motorcyclists to actually wear their helmets for their own safety.

The High Commissioner finally reminded everyone that the raising of the colors is the business of all citizens and observed a pious thought in memory of the provincial director of Water and Forests of Boulgou, who died in August 2026.
